Dead Set - Reality Bites

Als draußen vor der Tür aus heiterem Himmel ein Horrorvirus weite Teile der Bevölkerung in rasende, hochinfektiöse, nach Menschfleisch gierende Zombies verwandelt, bekommen die Bewohner des britischen Big-Brother-Containers zuletzt etwas davon mit. Nun ist ihr TV-Set einer der letzten sicheren Plätze in der Endzeit, was sowohl lebende Tote als auch ein paar der letzten Lebenden anlockt. Unterdessen nehmen in der klaustrophobischen Enge des Containers diverse interne Konflikte ihren zum Teil ereignisreichen Lauf. Zombies, so weit das Auge reicht, und trotzdem sind immer mal wieder neue Sachen dabei, die es zumindest so ähnlich noch nicht gegeben hat. Wie die Kombination Lebender Toter und Scripted Reality zum Beispiel. Einer, der von beidem eine Ahnung hat, ist der Regisseur dieser fünfteiligen Miniserie, die zwar schon aus dem Jahr 2008 stammt, der man die hierzulande kleine Verspätung aber nicht die Spur anmerkt. Jeder Ton und jedes Bild sitzt am richtigen Platz, Fans vom Fach machen ein Fass auf.

Starring Jaime Winstone, Dead Set is E4's horror series in which the dead are returning to life and attacking the living. Curiously there are a few people left in Britain who aren't worried about any of this - that's because they're the remaining contestants in Big Brother. Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they're blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding in the outside world. Until an eviction night when all hell breaks loose...Kelly, a production runner working on a fictional series of Big Brother, finds herself trying to fend off the walking dead alongside her producer boss Patrick, boyfriend Riq and the remaining Big Brother housemates. Featuring cameos from Davina McCall and several former housemates, this is a cruel and twisted take on one of TV's biggest game shows.
